    Roland VC-1-SC is a professional scan converter and signal bridge for SDI/HDMI/analog workflows. It performs up/down/cross conversion, precise frame-rate and i/p transforms, and aspect conversion with Full, Letterbox, Crop or Dot-by-Dot modes. With 3G-SDI Level A/B and HDMI I/O plus RGB/Component (HD-15) and Composite inputs, it normalizes laptop, legacy PC and camera feeds to clean 1080p/60 outputs. The internal scaler accepts VESA formats up to 1920×1200 (reduced blanking) and SD/HD formats from 576i/50 to 1080/59.94p, so mixed sources arrive ready for switching or capture.

    A built-in frame synchronizer with external reference input (black burst, bi-level, tri-level) keeps timing locked across multi-camera setups. The SDI path processes at 10-bit 4:2:2; HDMI supports 10-bit YCbCr 4:2:2 and 8-bit 4:4:4/RGB. On-board re-clocking stabilizes long SDI runs. For audio the unit offers embedding and de-embedding: route embedded HDMI/SDI audio, or use the analog RCA pair to send program audio to mixers or insert external audio back to the outputs.

    Control is exact and predictable through USB with VC-1 RCS for PC/Mac. Engineers can select formats, manage frame skip/repeat between 23.98/24/25/29.97/30/50/59.94/60, choose color sampling, and set safe handling of HDCP (HDMI-only pass-through; SDI is muted when content is protected).
