The DZOFilm Arles Lustre 180mm T2.8 FF/VV Prime Cine Lens PL Mount breaks that pattern by pairing a modern optical formula with a proprietary amber halation coating that wraps highlights in a warm, golden bloom. Built around 12 elements in 9 groups, the 46.5 mm image circle covers both Full Frame and Vista Vision sensors, making it a natural fit for cameras like the ARRI ALEXA 65, RED V-RAPTOR or Sony VENICE whenever a production calls for compressed backgrounds and tight subject isolation.

DZOFILM refined the Lustre optical signature through more than fifty iterations alongside over twenty cinematographers specialising in art films, fashion advertising and period narratives. The result sits between vintage warmth and contemporary resolution: lower contrast than the standard Arles T1.4 series, gentle tonal roll-off in the shadows, and a distinctive amber flare that adds emotional texture to backlit portraiture or golden-hour exteriors. Edge-to-edge resolving power still holds up to 12K scanning and finishing, so the artistic rendering never undermines technical credibility.

A 16-blade iris produces exceptionally round bokeh from T2.8 through the mid stops, rendering specular highlights as smooth discs free of onion-ring artefacts — a tangible benefit during concert recordings, nighttime urban sequences or scenes dense with practical lights. The 270° focus throw gives first assistants precise control from the minimum focus distance of 1.07 metres outward, while near-zero focus breathing keeps rack-focus pulls clean in interview and dialogue scenes.

Mechanically, the lens shares the Lustre series' unified 95 mm front diameter and 0.8 mod cine gearing, so swapping focal lengths requires no follow-focus or matte-box adjustment. The M86 filter thread accepts screw-in NDs and diffusion, and full compatibility with DZOFILM KOOP magnetic rear filters adds a second filtration path. The native PL mount seats on ARRI, RED and Sony cine bodies; EF and LPL kits are available separately. Finished in the limited-edition desert gold livery, this metric-scale variant keeps every marking readable on European and international sets.
