A 31.5 mm image circle gives the DZOFilm Pavo 32mm 2x Anamorphic T2.1 PL & EF Mount Neutral just enough room for a full Super 35 4-perf gate, whose diagonal measures about 31.1 mm. On that 4:3 area the 2x anamorphic squeeze opens a field of roughly 76° across and 32° high, and the de-squeezed frame comes out at 2.67:1. A 2.39:1 master then costs about a tenth of the width, while 6:5 anamorphic modes land on 2.4:1 almost uncropped.

In the three-lens Pavo B set it takes the wide slot, ahead of the 55 mm and 100 mm. At this focal length, a dialogue two-shot across a café table keeps the room readable and faces in natural proportion, and a Steadicam can follow cooks through a restaurant kitchen during service.

The neutral coating leaves each flare streak the colour of its source: a pharmacy's green cross stays green, a warmly lit shop window stays warm. On the feature Carolina Caroline, neutral Pavos flared only once a light hit the glass directly. The optics count 15 elements in 13 groups, and this is the widest Pavo with a 16-blade iris, which keeps out-of-focus points cleanly oval. At T2.1 a slight swirl gathers toward the corners and barrel distortion stays mild, so keep doorframes off the edges. Minimum focus, 0.4 m from the sensor, leaves about 24 cm between front glass and subject, close enough for latte art in a coffee commercial.

Focus turns through 270° and the iris through 59°, roughly 9° per stop, so an iris motor needs recalibrating after the 28 mm, which travels 79°. Across the series the 0.8 MOD gears share their positions, leaving follow-focus brackets and matte box where they are. PL is fitted at the factory, and the box adds an EF bayonet, two packs of screws, a shim set and a screwdriver; the DZOFilm manual calls for no shimming after a mount change. Back focus can be set ±0.2 mm with the lens still on the camera. Marks are metric, and with no electronics on board, focal length and stop are logged by hand. Paired with the Marlin 1.6x Expander, sold separately, it covers full-frame sensors at an effective 51 mm, losing just under 1.4 stops. Bought singly now, it slots into the B set or six-lens kit later with matching rendering.
