Camera positions at a concert are fixed long before the doors open, and the one beside the front-of-house desk usually sits furthest from the stage. The DZOFilm Vespid Prime 125mm T2.1 PL Mount + EF (VV/FF), the longest focal length in the Vespid Prime family, gives that spot a real job. On full frame its horizontal angle of view narrows to about 16°. Fitted in EF to a Super 35 Blackmagic Studio Camera 6K Pro, it frames like a 195 mm: a singer ten metres away fills the shot from the waist up.

At T2.1 and four metres, only about 12 cm of depth stays sharp on full frame, so the 270° focus rotation gives a focus puller or wireless motor room to land each mark. The iris turns through 84° from T2.1 to T22, the longest arc of any Vespid Prime. With no electronics in the barrel, an ATEM camera control panel cannot ride the stop: set it by hand, then trim with the camera's built-in ND and gain. Its 0.8 MOD gears, 80 mm front and M77 thread match the rest of the set.

Ten elements in eight groups follow the series' APO formula, so guitar frets and sequinned costumes under spotlights show little colour fringing. Breathing stays low: a live rack from a guitarist's hands to the singer barely changes the framing. Neutral colour and gentle contrast keep it in step with wider Vespids in the edit. Sixteen blades keep defocused spotlights round; wide open, those near the frame edges turn slightly cat's-eye until about T3.2, according to a Driven Films review. At its 0.79 m minimum, measured from the sensor, a football shirt's embroidered crest fills much of the frame.

The PL mount comes fitted, with an EF mount kit in the box. After a swap, DZOFilm's manual calls for a back-focus check at T4 on a target 1.5 m away; each line of error on its chart equals about 0.18 mm of shim. Octopus adapters, sold separately, put it on E, RF, L and X cameras, and the 46.5 mm image circle reaches past full frame to VistaVision. It tops the seven- and nine-lens Vespid sets, and the newer Vespid 2 line stops at 105 mm, so this 125 mm telephoto cine lens stays the long end of the kit: concert multicam, talk-show reaction shots, sideline sports interviews, fashion close-ups.
