The Fujinon LA30x7.8BRM-XB2 is a portable 4K broadcast zoom lens for 2/3" B4-mount cameras, covering a focal range of 7.8–234 mm with a 30x optical ratio. Across this range it maintains 4K resolving power, HT-EBC multi-layer coating and stable contrast, delivering clean images for live production, studio multicam, sports coverage and field ENG on shoulder-mounted or pedestal rigs.
The optical block combines a wide 63.2°×38.1° angle of view at 7.8 mm with a tight 2.3°×1.3° field at 234 mm, giving operators precise framing from establishing shots to tight player or talent crops without lens swaps. A maximum aperture of F1.9 at wide and F3.9 at telephoto keeps exposure under control in stadium lighting or OB vans, while a minimum object distance of 0.8 m supports handheld work in cramped control rooms and mixed-reality stages.
The integrated drive unit of the LA30x7.8BRM-XB2 incorporates high-resolution 16-bit encoders for zoom, focus and iris, delivering accurate lens metadata for virtual production, AR graphics and remote operation. Zoom travel can be swept end-to-end in approximately 1 s or slowed to around 120 s for controlled creative moves during music, worship or talk shows. A rear focus mechanism limits breathing and remains quiet when receiving autofocus commands from compatible broadcast cameras, keeping overlays and tracking systems stable.
For close-up inserts the built-in macro function allows focusing down to approximately 5 cm from the front element, useful for product shots, scoreboard details or instrument close-ups on live stages. The lens offers an M95×1 front filter thread for ND or clear protection filters and works seamlessly with standard Fujinon control accessories such as zoom demand and focus grip units.
