Laowa Proteus 2-Lens Bundle couples the 45 mm and 85 mm T2 primes into a unified 2 × anamorphic toolkit for Super 35+ sensors. Both optics use front-anamorphic architecture, yielding a 2.66 : 1 frame on a 4 : 3 camera and a silver flare that holds contrast wide open. Elliptical bokeh and oval highlights enhance the cinematic look while the design maintains edge-to-edge sharpness for HDR. The 45 mm variant covers a 25.9 × 21.6 mm image circle, uses 17 elements in 14 groups and focuses to 0.55 m; the 85 mm mirrors that coverage with an 18/13 formula and holds focus from 0.82 m. Both lenses share a fast T2–T22 iris with 10 blades, giving matched depth-of-field and exposure across multi-camera shows. Squeeze stays constant, eliminating ‘mumps’ and easing VFX pulls.

Mechanical harmony speeds workflow: interchangeable PL and EF mounts ride on a steel core; ring positions, 0.8 MOD gears and a broad 300° focus throw with 60° iris rotation suit remote FIZ units. Horizontal angle of view measures 59.9° (45 mm) and 33.9° (85 mm), covering wide context to tight portrait. A 114 mm front diameter fits clip-on matte boxes, while a 105 mm thread accepts ND or diffusion for gimbal work. Lengths: 182 mm and 239 mm; masses: 2.4 kg and 2.95 kg—balanced for Steadicam, dolly or drone plates. Metric-imperial dual scales glow for night work, and internal focusing keeps the front static, maintaining matte-box alignment.

Advanced coatings tuned for the silver flare signature reject stray wavelengths and maintain colour neutrality, while optical breathing sits below one pixel on a 4 K S35 frame.
