Laowa Proteus 28 mm T2 2× Anamorphic S35 (Blue) PL + EF brings authentic cinemascope optics to Super 35 crews. A constant 2× squeeze ratio drives a 25.9 mm image circle, yielding 2.66 : 1 on 4 : 3 or 2.4 : 1 on 6 : 5 sensors while a broad 85.6° horizontal field keeps intimate sets expansive.

Inside, 17 elements in 15 groups with multicoatings safeguard contrast from T2 to T22. The bright T2 aperture and 10-blade iris carve oval bokeh, while signature blue anamorphic flares stay controlled. Minimal breathing and unchanging squeeze across focus, paired with a 300° throw, give ACs precise marks down to the 0.48 m close-focus.

The body is fully cine : interchangeable ARRI PL / Canon EF mounts, on-board flange shims, identical 0.8 MOD gearpositions, 114 mm front diameter and 105 mm thread. Length 182 mm, weight 2.4 kg; a 3/8”-16 foot and hard case are supplied. Meter engravings remain legible after harsh clean-downs.

Covering S35+ it resolves ALEXA 35 4.6 K and RED V-RAPTOR 7 K. Add Laowa’s 1.4× full-frame adapter for FF capture without cropping. For VFX plates, multicam streaming or narrative drama, Proteus 28 mm T2 partners with wireless motors, clip-on matte boxes and 105 mm diopters, delivering stable geometry, cinematic streaks and edge-to-edge sharpness shoot after shoot. Optical consistency across the Proteus line accelerates lens swaps: unified gear spacing ends FIZ re-rigging; gimbal balance shifts little. A clamp-on matte box seats on the 114 mm front, while the 105 mm thread welcomes diopters or NDs. Stainless cams and brass helicoids keep witness marks accurate in sub-zero weather, and nitrogen purging blocks fogging through temperature shifts. Anti-reflective coatings and light traps suppress stray reflections, preserving HDR capture.
