AVMATRIX TB-C42 brings four independent HDMI 1.4 inputs into a Thunderbolt-based ingest station for crews that need several Full HD sources on...
The Magewell Pro Capture Hexa CVBS is a six-channel composite video capture card built on a PCIe Gen2 x1 interface. It ingests six independent CVBS sources along with six unbalanced stereo audio pairs through a single DB25 connector and the included breakout cable. For broadcast facilities, post-production studios, and live event crews still working with analogue camera feeds, VHS playback decks, or legacy surveillance infrastructure, this card turns one PCIe slot into a complete analogue-to-digital ingest station.
All six inputs handle NTSC, PAL, and SECAM with automatic standard detection, capturing up to 720 × 576 pixels at 30 fps. The onboard FPGA takes care of de-interlacing, cropping, scaling, and colour-space conversion between RGB, YCbCr 601, and YCbCr 709 — keeping the host CPU free for encoding or streaming. Output formats span 4:2:0, 4:2:2, and 4:4:4 at 8-bit depth, including NV12, YUY2, UYVY, and BGR24. A built-in OSD overlay engine accepts PNG images up to 720 × 576, while native CEA-608 / EIA-608 closed-caption extraction simplifies compliance during archival or live broadcast.
With latency of just 64 video lines, the card keeps up when feeding a live switcher or monitoring multiple returns in real time. Every input can spawn unlimited capture streams — each with its own resolution, frame rate, and colour settings — so one source feeds a recorder, a streaming encoder, and a confidence monitor at once. A hardware 100 ns clock stamps every frame, and that clock synchronises across multiple cards via the SDK for frame-accurate multi-channel recording. Drivers cover Windows 10/11, Server 2016–2025, Linux (kernel 2.6.35+, ARM included), and macOS 10.12+. The card works out of the box with OBS, vMix, Wirecast, VLC, XSplit, and any DirectShow or V4L2 application — a practical choice for digitising tape archives, capturing legacy surveillance feeds, or bridging analogue routers into an IP-based production environment.
