Magewell Pro Convert 12G SDI 4K Plus gives broadcast and live production teams a direct way to move a native 12G-SDI signal into an NDI environment without replacing proven camera chains, replay servers or studio infrastructure. It accepts a single-link SDI feed up to 4096x2160 at 60 fps and keeps a dedicated loop-through output available, which matters when the same source must feed a monitor wall, switcher input or technical shading position at the same time. For mobile production units, event venues, houses of worship, lecture capture systems and fixed studio installations, this means one encoder can bridge UHD baseband acquisition with an IP video network while keeping signal routing predictable.
The unit encodes NDI High Bandwidth at up to 4K60 4:2:2 8-bit and carries up to 16 channels of embedded audio, so a single SDI source can enter an NDI-based production with picture and multichannel sound preserved together. Magewell also allows adjustment of deinterlacing, scaling, frame rate and aspect ratio processing, which is useful when a camera feed must be normalized before it reaches OBS, vMix, NDI Studio Monitor or another NDI-aware destination. Support for BT.601, BT.709 and BT.2020 input spaces broadens compatibility with current HD and UHD equipment used in broadcast, streaming, corporate AV and hybrid event production.

Through NDI-based PTZ control, operators can send commands to compatible cameras using protocols such as VISCA and PELCO, while the included tally support helps on-camera talent and operators see preview or program status more clearly. Remote administration through Web UI, Control Hub and HTTP API shortens setup time in multi-room or multi-encoder deployments, and USB RNDIS/ECM access is useful when a unit must be configured quickly from a laptop on location.

A Gigabit Ethernet interface with PoE reduces cabling at camera positions, temporary truss installations and conference spaces, while automatic signal detection and DHCP simplify first deployment.
