It accepts up to 4K HDMI input and loop-through, then converts the signal for 1080p60 live streaming, which is useful when a camera, switcher or presentation system outputs UHD but the platform and available bandwidth call for stable Full HD delivery. For conference streaming, lecture capture, church services, gaming channels, corporate webinars or mobile event kits, this gives operators a compact encoder that starts quickly and keeps the installation simple.

In daily use, the advantage is not just portability but control over the stream itself. Magewell Ultra Stream HDMI supports H.264 and HEVC/H.265 video encoding with AAC audio, video bitrates up to 8 Mbps, selectable HD and SD output resolutions, and simultaneous streaming to two destinations.
