The Magewell Ultra Encode HDMI is a single-channel HDMI streaming encoder that compresses video in H.264 and H.265 (HEVC). Its HDMI 1.4a input accepts signals up to DCI 4K (4096×2160) at 60 fps in 4:2:0 or 30 fps in 4:4:4/4:2:2, and a loop-through output mirrors that source to a monitor or switcher without additional splitters. Encoding reaches 1080p60 with a main stream bitrate ceiling of 16 Mbps and a secondary sub stream capped at 2 Mbps — a practical split when you need a broadcast-grade feed alongside a lightweight proxy for confidence monitoring or archival.
Protocol support covers RTMP, RTMPS, SRT (Caller and Listener), RTSP, HLS, TS over UDP, TS over RTP, TVU ISSP, and NDI|HX2 with NDI 6.x compatibility. Built-in presets for YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch let operators go live in minutes. Up to six simultaneous RTMP or SRT sessions make multi-platform delivery straightforward — for example, feeding an SRT stream to a remote production gallery while pushing RTMP to YouTube and running NDI|HX2 toward a local video mixer, all from one compact box.
Network access relies on Gigabit Ethernet, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, or a USB 4G/5G modem for field situations where wired infrastructure is absent. A 3.5 mm LINE IN adds an external audio source beside the eight-channel HDMI embedded audio, and the LINE OUT feeds headphones or a local PA system. Each stream profile supports up to eight graphical overlays — text, images, or a clock — managed through the built-in Web GUI or via HTTP APIs that integrate with third-party control systems.

The Magewell Ultra Encode HDMI supports high-quality H.264, H.265 (HEVC), encoding. Stream Full HD video simultaneously to Facebook, YouTube, Twitch and other streaming platforms. This device supports also other streaming protocols such as SRT, NDI|HX, HLS, RTMP, and RTMPS with wired or wireless network connectivity.
HDMI input support for up to 4096x2160 4:4:4/4:2:2 30fps or 4096x2160 4:2:0 60fps input and loop through signals.
Ultra Encode can be combined with our Pro Convert decoders to form flexible AV over IP infrastructures leveraging NDI®|HX and SRT technology.
