Netgear M4250‑8G2XF‑PoE+ is engineered to anchor 1 Gb/s AV networks in broadcast studios, live event venues and streaming control rooms. Eight gigabit Ethernet ports supply up to 30 watts each via PoE+, delivering a generous 220 watt power budget for cameras, encoders, controllers and touch screens. Two SFP+ bays accept 1 Gb/s or 10 Gb/s fibre modules, enabling long‑distance uplinks and stacking, while a 56 Gb/s switching fabric ensures that high‑bit‑rate streams and command traffic flow without congestion.
This ten‑port platform boots into a dedicated AV interface with colour‑coded port profiles for common audio and video protocols. Dante, Q‑SYS, AES67, AVB and major video standards such as NVX, AMX and NDI can be assigned by clicking rather than coding. Built‑in IGMP Plus enables multicast out of the box, and auto‑trunking and link‑aggregation quickly interconnect additional M4250 or M4300 units. Support for jumbo frames and a deep buffer preserves low latency across busy networks.
The fanless chassis operates silently and comes with reversible rack ears for under‑desk or wall mounting to keep cabling neat. An intuitive interface exposes essential Layer 2/3 tools—VLANs, link aggregation, DHCP server, rapid spanning tree and QoS—giving system integrators the control they need without overwhelming complexity. AVB support via firmware update keeps audio streams in lockstep, and the switch seamlessly integrates with Just Add Power and AVPro MXNet systems.
