SmallHD Camera Control Kit for Sony merges licenced firmware with a purpose-built Ethernet lead to turn any Ultra 5 / Ultra 7 / Ultra 10 / Cine 7 monitor into a tactile command panel for Sony BURANO, FX6, VENICE & VENICE 2cinema cameras. A perpetual software key installs a dedicated PageOS workspace, while the 91 cm RJ-45 patch cable adds rock-solid TCP/IP connectivity. All menu layers appear as familiar PageOS tiles, so operators stay on the picture and off the camera body.
Swipe once and change critical acquisition parameters in real time: run/stop, electronic ND steps, frame rate (1-180 fps), shutter angle/speed, base-ISO, and chromaticity via colour temperature or white-balance presets from 2000 K to 15 000 K. Partial 1D/3D LUT upload lets you toggle looks directly on the monitor for instant client preview, while clip playback with metadata overlays streamlines focus and exposure checks.
Non-interactive telemetry—timecode, media remaining, battery voltage, resolution and codec—updates at sub-250 ms latency, giving shaders concise status even over 100 m Cat-6. Because commands ride standard Ethernet, the kit excels in OB trucks, Steadicam hard-lines and stage environments. Activation locks to one monitor serial for security; add a USB-C-to-Ethernet dongle for displays without RJ-45.
Weighing only 52 g and drawing zero power, the kit removes redundant on-board controllers and accelerates decision-making.
