SmallHD Camera Control Kit for Sony FX6 turns the SmallHD Cine 5 monitor into a full-featured remote head for Sony’s 4K full-frame workhorse. After activating the perpetual software licence, a single slim Ethernet link lets the monitor’s ultra-bright touchscreen surface the FX6 menu tree in real time, eliminating on-body button pushes when the camera sits on gimbals, cranes or drones. Latency-free control via PageOS ensures decisive adjustments even during live multicam or virtual-production shoots.

From the same screen that hosts waveform, false-colour and LUT preview you can trigger record/run-stop, step electronic ND in 0.25-stop increments, set shutter speed or angle, swap base-ISO, dial white balance, alter FPS, load partial LUTs and play back clips. Persistent overlays report time-code, resolution, media capacity, battery level and codec, so assistants stay informed even when the camera is beyond arm’s reach. This integrated workflow cuts menu-dives and preserves framing continuity, a critical gain when seconds cost money on set.

The kit ships with a rugged 91.4 cm (36 in) slim Ethernet cable and a locking 5-pin LEMO → RJ-45 adapter—both rated for studio duty—and weighs just 88 g in its 15.7 × 11.2 × 7.4 cm carton. A USB-C-to-Ethernet dongle (optional) allows off-camera licence activation for rental fleets. All links are PoE-passive, drawing < 1 W, so V-mount or Gold-mount power budgets remain untouched. Combining daylight-viewable 2000 nit monitoring with fingertip FX6 control, Cine 5 becomes a single-cable command hub ideal for Steadicam, OB vans and LED-volume stages.
