VELVET Kosmos 400 Color Studio is a 400 W full-colour LED Fresnel with a Velvet ceramic COB light engine and a true borosilicate glass Fresnel lens. A stepper-driven zoom moves from 13° spot to 56° flood, enabling remote beam shaping for multicam studio keys, controlled edge light or clean background separation. Output is specified at up to 16,500 lux at 3 m (spot, 5600 K) and 4,000 lux at 3 m (flood, 5600 K), with useful throw maintained at 6 m.

Colour is handled with camera matching in mind. CCT is continuously variable from 2,500–10,000 K in 100 K steps, plus continuous ±green correction for balancing to other LED sources and practicals. Control modes include CCT, HSI, CCT+RGB, gel libraries and effects, and a Kelvin base white can be blended with colour when saturation would otherwise flatten skin. Output runs 0–100% with three selectable dimming curves for predictable fades. Velvet specifies colour reproduction at TLCI 95 (3200 K) and TLCI 97 (5600 K).

For rigging into existing infrastructure, local operation uses a full-colour touchscreen and two rotary encoders, while external control supports DMX-RDM via 5-pin XLR and Art-Net over Ethernet on RJ-45. Wireless workflows are covered by LumenRadio CRMX, Wi-Fi Art-Net sCAN and Bluetooth, with the Velvet Goya app for iOS and Android. High-speed capture is supported with flicker performance specified up to 12,000 fps.

Noise management is addressed through a sealed 3D cooling chamber with four fan modes, including Fan Off for dialogue takes. Power is specified for professional distribution (90–264 V AC) using PowerCON TRUE1 in/out; Velvet documentation also lists a 26–48 V DC XLR-3 input, though the Studio version is typically run on mains. With IP30 protection and die-cast aluminium construction, Kosmos 400 Color Studio fits broadcast studios, corporate streaming stages, rental inventories and control rooms where remote zoom, network control and repeatable colour matter.
