    Carrying a 4K60 SDI signal across a broadcast campus, between studio buildings, or from a concert stage to an OB truck hundreds of metres away — without compression or latency — becomes straightforward with the AVMATRIX FE1121-12G. This transmitter/receiver kit converts a 12G-SDI source into a single-mode optical fiber stream at 1310 nm wavelength, then regenerates it at the far end with full bandwidth intact. Maximum reach on single-mode fiber is 10 kilometres, enough for large venue complexes, campus production facilities, or extended outside-broadcast cable runs.

    On the transmitter side, one BNC input accepts any SDI rate from SD through HD, 3G, 6G, and up to 12G-SDI — bandwidth detection is automatic, no manual setup needed. A local SDI loop output mirrors the incoming signal for on-site monitoring or daisy-chaining. The hot-pluggable SFP module with LC connector handles electro-optical conversion, compliant with SMPTE 297M and SFF-8472. At the receiver end, two re-clocked 12G-SDI BNC outputs feed downstream devices such as switchers, recorders, or multiviewers, often eliminating the need for a separate distribution amplifier.

    Each unit draws just 1.5 W through a Micro USB port (3.3–5 V), so a standard USB power bank can keep both transmitter and receiver running where mains power is unavailable. The housing supports continuous 24/7 operation from 0 °C to 60 °C — equally at home in a permanent rack installation or a temporary festival rig. Built-in SDI equalization and re-clocking clean up jitter accumulated over long coaxial runs before the signal enters the fiber path, preserving timing accuracy end to end.

    Video formats up to 4K DCI (4096 × 2160) at 50, 59.94, and 60 fps pass through uncompressed, together with up to 32 channels of embedded audio and ancillary metadata.
