The AVMATRIX FE1121 solves a very specific signal-transport problem: taking a 3G-SDI camera feed far beyond normal coax runs without giving up embedded audio, metadata, or dependable signal lock. This transmitter/receiver kit carries SD, HD and 3G-SDI over single-mode LC simplex fiber to distances up to 20 km, with support for resolutions up to 1080p. For venues with camera positions far from the control room, fixed links between stage and gallery, or routed feeds across large campuses, it replaces long copper paths with a fiber link built for stable point-to-point delivery.
On the transmitter, the unit provides one SDI input plus a loop output, so a local monitor, shader station or confidence display can stay in circuit while the same signal travels down fiber. At the receive side, dual SDI outputs make it easy to feed a switcher and a recorder, a router and a monitor wall, or a main destination and a backup path at the same time. The FE1121 also supports Level A and Level B formats, automatic SD/HD/3G-SDI detection, and re-clocking / equalization, which matters in installations where clean recovery of the SDI stream is more important than headline marketing language.
The optical section uses a hot-pluggable SFP module with LC connectivity, giving service teams a practical way to replace the transceiver module without changing the whole extender pair. The signal path handles YUV and RGB colour spaces and passes up to 16 channels of embedded audio, so the same link can carry camera pictures, program feeds, replay outputs or studio sources without separating sound from picture. USB-powered operation and included mounting hardware also help in racks, flypacks and wall-mounted technical areas where space is tight. The FE1121 3G-SDI Fiber Optic Extender is a transmitter/receiver kit supporting single-mode LC simplex fiber extensions up to 20km. It is a miniature-style extension solution that supports all SDI formats resolutions up to 1080p with audio and metadata, also supports level A and level B. It features a local SDI loop out and dual SDI outputs and supports 3G/HD/SD SDI signals. Multimode fiber can also be used but at shorter distances.
