Telycam PTZ ecosystem brings broadcast, ProAV and conferencing into one coherent range, built around network-native workflows and precise pan-tilt-zoom control. The brand’s portfolio spans flagship Explore, Vision+ premium, and practical Drive and Meet series, covering UHD 4K60 capture, NDI®HX3 IP transport, 12G-SDI, Genlock, FreeD tracking, and PoE+/PoE++ deployment across studio, venue and campus installs.
Explore is the flagship broadcast platform. A 1-inch CMOS (9 MP) with PDAF drives crisp focus at long focal lengths; the native optical block provides 20× zoom (f=9.79–186.5 mm, F2.8–F4.5) with a horizontal FOV of 71° to 4.05°. Video pipelines include 12G-SDI for 4K60, HDMI 2.0 for 4K60, NDI High Bandwidth and NDI®HX3 over 1/10 GbE via SFP+, plus USB-C for 4K30 UVC. For timing-critical multi-camera switching, hardware Genlock aligns frames; FreeD outputs PTZF metadata to virtual-production systems. Dual tally LEDs (front/back) integrate with NDI/VISCA. A variable ND filter (1.6/6.3/25/100% transmittance) and local microSD recording add field resilience. Pan range is −176° to +176°; tilt −90° to +90°; precision 0.1°; typical body mass 4.6 kg. Network protocols cover SRT, RTMP/RTSP, ONVIF, VISCA over IP, NTP, RTP multicast, WebRTC, with bit-rates from 1,024 Kbps up to 122,800 Kbps.
Explore SE targets immersive studios and VR pipelines. It employs a 1/1.8-inch 9 MP sensor with 30× zoom (f=6.91–214.64 mm, F1.35–F4.6), delivering UHD 4K60 through 12G-SDI, HDMI 2.0, NDI/NDI®HX3, SFP+, and a crop output via 3G-SDI up to 1080p60 for region-of-interest feeds. It supports Genlock and native FreeD over UDP/NDI/SDI for AR/VR engines, with mini-XLR (phantom) and 3.5 mm line-in for embedded audio. Mechanics match the flagship: −176° to +176° pan, −90° to +90° tilt, 0.1° preset accuracy, and PoE++ power. Service discovery via SSDP accelerates installation in multi-camera networks.
Within the premium tier, Vision+ 4KN delivers 4K60 with certified NDI®HX3. Output options include simultaneous HDMI 2.0 (up to 2160p60), 3G-SDI (1080p60/59.94/50), and USB-C encoding paths (MJPEG/H.264/H.265 up to 2160p30). Optics are available as 12× on a 1/2.8-inch sensor (80.5°–7.6° HFOV), 20× and 30× on a 1/1.8-inch 9 MP sensor (61°–3.5° and 63°–2.1° HFOV respectively). Pan spans −176° to +176°; tilt −30° to +90°; with up to 120°/s pan speed on the 12× variant. The camera exposes FreeD, VISCA, PELCO, SRT, RTMP, and ONVIF for integration; a front tally LED and 3.5 mm line-in simplify gallery coordination.
Vision+ N3 addresses lecture capture, courtrooms and houses of worship needing robust NDI®HX3 at 1080p60. Two optical blocks are offered: 20× on a 1/2.8-inch 2.4 MP sensor (60°–3.2° HFOV) and 30× on a 1/1.8-inch 9 MP sensor (63°–2.1° HFOV). Interfaces include NDI®HX3, 3G-SDI, HDMI and USB-C. Movement covers −170° to +170° pan and −30° to +90° tilt; pan up to 120°/s (20×). SSDP discovery, tally integration, and PoE+ power streamline fixed installations. Audio is embedded via 3.5 mm stereo line-in.
For auditoriums requiring long throw in FHD, Vision+ GE pairs a 1/1.8-inch 12 MP imager with a 30× zoom lens (60°–2° HFOV). It outputs via NDI®HX3, 3G-SDI, HDMI, and USB-C, with −170° to +170° pan, −30° to +90° tilt, and 128 serial presets. Protocol coverage mirrors N3, and PoE+ reduces PSU count in ceiling rigs.
Drive series provides cost-efficient entry into IP production. Drive+ N offers 12× with a 72.5° wide angle or 20× with a 60° field, both on NDI®HX, plus HDMI, 3G-SDI and USB 3.0 outputs. It maintains the brand’s AF algorithm for stable focus during motion and supports PoE to minimize cabling. For desktop and huddle rooms, the Meet family covers USB PTZ and e-PTZ webcams: Meet+ 10/12/20-U3 deliver 1080p60 with 10×/12×/20× optical zoom, while Meet+ 200 brings 4K e-PTZ, 120° FOV and AI auto-framing with dual microphones. All models interoperate with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex and Google Meet for hybrid setups.
Across the range, NDI®HX3 enables low-latency contribution over standard networks, while 12G-SDI on Explore/SE sustains long coax runs for OB racks. FreeD and Genlock make the Explore pair suited to keyed graphics and LED stages; cropped 3G-SDI ROI provides a parallel close-up without adding a head. SSDP discovery shortens commissioning, and V-Joy controllers cover VISCA serial and IP control. Tally signaling over NDI reduces external GPIO needs. Operating envelopes typically span −10 °C to +50 °C; dimensions include compact 220 × 190 × 173 mm housings on Vision/N3 variants for easy mounting.
Selection guide: choose Explore when a 1-inch sensor, 12G-SDI 4K60, Genlock and FreeD are mandatory for virtual sets or broadcast switchers; choose Explore SE when a 30× reach, ROI via 3G-SDI, and SFP+ networking are priorities. For unified ProAV over IP, Vision+ 4KN provides 4K60 on HDMI and NDI®HX3 with ample control protocols. For FHD campuses and houses of worship, Vision+ N3 (20×/30×) and Vision+ GE (30×) offer long-throw optics, PoE power and SSDP provisioning. Pair with Drive+ N for auxiliary angles and Meet for desktop collaboration, building a single-vendor ecosystem from studio to meeting room.
Signal formats on the Explore pair cover 2160p60/59.94/50 and a full matrix of 1080p/i and 720p frame rates. On Vision+ 4KN, HDMI 2.0 mirrors 2160p60 while NDI®HX3 maintains frame-accurate timing over IP. USB mode exposes UVC with MJPEG/YUY2/NV12, and H.264/H.265 encoding paths for software ingest. The minimum illumination for 4KN variants is typically 0.5 lx at F1.8 and 1/30 s, aligning with auditorium lighting. White balance modes include auto, ATW, presets and Kelvin entry; exposure can be driven automatically or by shutter/iris priority, with anti-flicker at 50/60 Hz for EU/US mains.
Auto-tracking on Vision/Explore relies on onboard AI, so tracking persists without a host PC. Sensitivity, target box and lock behaviour can be tuned in the WebUI. When tracking is latched, pan/tilt ramps are shaped to avoid abrupt accelerations that would stress encoders or cause viewer fatigue. Telycam’s implementation keeps lens breathing and AF hunting to a minimum, essential for long-form live streaming.
For AR/VR pipelines, FreeD streams PTZF along with lens metadata, enabling engines such as Brainstorm, Vizrt, Zero Density, Aximmetry or Unreal to place graphics with correct perspective. Combined with Genlock on Explore/SE, rendered elements feed a keyed mix without judder or frame slips. The cropped 3G-SDI on Explore/SE can serve a clean tight shot while the 12G-SDI/NDI outputs carry the wide, making one head act like two cameras.
Installation practices: favour PoE+ for Vision/N3/GE and PoE++ for Explore/SE where heaters or higher inrush are expected. Over copper, NDI®HX3 fits reliably on 1 GbE; for crowded VLANs or many concurrent 4K feeds, use the SFP+ port on Explore/SE tied to a 10 GbE spine. SSDP discovery places each camera in the controller’s device list instantly; after commissioning, lock down with admin credentials and segregate control on a management VLAN.
Control options span VISCA over IP, serial RS-232/RS-485/RS-422, IR handhelds and the V-Joy family of hardware panels. Preset storage reaches 256 on Vision+/Explore; recall speed is configurable so motion matches the venue’s expectations. For shows needing absolute position feedback, use the API to poll PTZF values, or read FreeD to derive precise framing for macros.
Acoustics and mechanics: PT head drives are quiet at low speeds and maintain sub-pixel accuracy at stop. Minimum working distance sits at 1.0 m for short zoom blocks and 1.5 m at telephoto on the 30× lenses. Thermal design supports −10 °C to +50 °C ambient; housings at 220 × 190 × 173 mm (Vision/N3) simplify wall and truss mounts. Where vibration is present, mount on mass-loaded plates and enable the camera’s image stabilization profile if available.
Encoding and transport: SRT caller/listener modes allow contribution to cloud encoders with AES encryption and ARQ. RTMP keys deliver to CDNs; RTSP suits confidence feeds and recorders. NTP disciplining reduces clock drift between encoders; multicast RTP can be enabled on internal networks to feed multi-viewers without duplicating streams.
Audio ingest: Explore/Explore SE offer 3.5 mm line-in and mini-XLR avec alimentation fantôme for professional microphones; Vision+/N3/GE carry 3.5 mm stereo. When embedding, keep to 48 kHz and ensure lip-sync by referencing the same PTP/NTP source across switchers and recorders.
Typical use cases: a broadcast studio can stage four Explore heads for main/wide and a pair of Explore SE units upstage for VR plates, using Genlock to hard-sync. A performance hall can deploy Vision+ 4KN front-of-house for 4K archival and use Vision+ N3 or GE for balcony long shots in 1080p, switching over NDI®HX3 with V-Joy surfaces. Universities can standardize on N3 for lecture rooms and add Meet webcams for breakout spaces.
