The Magewell Pro Convert for NDI to HDMI Module brings NDI-based IP video back into the baseband domain through a hot-swappable card that slots straight into the Modator 2U chassis. A single chassis holds up to ten modules, each running independently — pull one out, replace it, or add a new card without interrupting the others. This decoder accepts Full NDI, NDI|HX, NDI|HX2 and NDI|HX3 sources at resolutions up to 2Kp60 and outputs a clean HDMI 2.0 signal reaching 4096 × 2160 at 60 fps in 4:4:4 colour depth. When a lower-resolution stream arrives, built-in scaling aligns the output to the connected display's EDID profile automatically.

The module goes well beyond NDI. It decodes SRT, RTSP, RTMP pull and push, MPEG-TS over UDP, RTP and SRT, plus HLS and HTTP streams carrying H.264 or H.265 payloads. In a broadcast facility this means one chassis can simultaneously decode a remote camera contribution via SRT, display a local NDI source on a multiviewer, and feed an HLS confidence monitor — each task on its own module. Eight channels of embedded audio are extracted at 48 kHz / 16-bit, with gain and channel-mapping adjustments available through the browser-based control panel. On-screen VU meters let engineers verify levels at a glance without extra monitoring gear.

Connectivity includes a Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 port that also supports Power over Ethernet, a USB Type-C port for local configuration, and a USB Type-A 3.0 port for peripheral devices. NDI-based tally relays on-air status to the production chain, so operators know which source is live at any moment. The web interface exposes OSD overlays, deinterlacing, alpha channel blending and source naming, while native plugins for Crestron SIMPL+ and Q-SYS tie the module into centralised control systems. At just 4.3 W per card, ten fully loaded modules still draw under 43 W — a practical figure for both touring flypacks and fixed machine rooms.
