Routing rooms, OB trucks and fly-packs rarely have a spare rack unit to waste, which is exactly where the Marshall V-702W-12G-V2 earns its place. Two seven-inch LCD panels sit inside a single 3 RU chassis, each running at 1920 x 1200 with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 450 cd/m² brightness and a 1200:1 contrast ratio. The wide ±80° horizontal and vertical viewing angles keep the picture honest when an engineer reads the screen from the side of a crowded routing bay, and the adjustable backlight holds colour accuracy whether the rack lives under studio lighting or in a dim machine room.

Connectivity is built around 12G-SDI and HDMI. Each display accepts a 12G/3G/HD/SD-SDI feed plus an HDMI source, and every input carries a matching loop output, so a signal can be daisy-chained to recorders, multiviewers or a second rack without splitter hardware. Both paths handle resolutions up to DCI 4K (4096 x 2160) at 60p. Because the 12G input takes a native UHD or 4K stream directly, there is no outboard down-converter sitting between camera and panel, which trims latency on a live cut and removes one more box that can fail during a broadcast.

For shading and QC, the Marshall V-702W-12G-V2 carries the analysis tools an operator actually reaches for: waveform, vectorscope, histogram, false colour, focus peaking, audio metering and a split-screen mode that places HDR, gamma and S-Log corrections side by side for a real-time before-and-after read. User 3D LUTs and an S-LUT library load over the USB-A port, while VITC and LTC timecode display keeps takes in sync. Four assignable function buttons per panel put the most-used settings a single press away.

Production integration is handled through red, green and yellow on-screen tally, driven by GPI through the 15-pin D-Sub port or routed over Ethernet alongside full GUI control via the Marshall PCSet application. Embedded SDI and HDMI audio can be checked on a 3.5 mm headphone jack, firmware loads from a USB drive, and dual power feeds — a DC barrel and a 4-pin XLR accepting 10.8–24 V at roughly 21 W — give a facility the redundancy it expects from rack-mounted broadcast monitoring.
