SmallHD Vision 17 4K HDR Monitor delivers uncompromising reference in a portable 17.3 inch (43.9 cm) chassis. The IPS LCD is powered by a Full-Array Local Dimming backlight with 1 792 LED zones, achieving 1 000 000 : 1 contrast and 1 000 cd/m² peak luminance. Native 3840 × 2160 pixels, 10-bit processing and 115 % DCI-P3 coverage enable accurate HDR10, HLG and ST-2084 playback that meets Netflix on-set standards. A wide 178° viewing cone and anti-halo algorithm keep contrast uniform across the frame.

Connectivity keeps pace. Four 12G-SDI inputs and four outs pass 4K 60 p over single BNC, while HDMI 2.0 I/O links cameras, routers or graphics. An SD slot loads 33-point LUTs, dual RJ-45 carry LAN or tally/GPI, and PageOS 4.1 offers 4K waveform, vectorscope, false colour, focus tools, calibration wizard and user-preset page tabs. PageOS also supports upcoming firmware functions, protecting your investment. Embedded audio is available through the 3.5 mm jack.

The milled-aluminium body weighs just 4.85 kg, yet provides 36 × ¼-20 threads, a 100 × 100 mm VESA pattern and supplied cheese rails for rapid rigging. Dimensions are 44.2 × 31.5 × 6.1 cm (panel) or 45 × 36.6 × 11.9 cm with handle and feet. Power via 12 – 34 V XLR or an optional dual V-/Gold-mount plate; two 2-pin LEMO (12 V/2 A) plus USB-A/C ports feed accessories, while typical draw stays at 127 W. Operating range 0-37 °C and fan-less cooling keep the monitor silent on set.

Transport protector, handle, feet, 4 K HDMI cable, 8 GB SD card and cheese sticks are included, so Vision 17 is ready for drama sets, multicam studios or live-sports OB trucks. Wherever you work, SmallHD Vision 17 locks HDR colour pipeline from lens to grading suite, ensuring monitors align with the colourist’s intent.

EL Zone
The stop-based exposure map tool—developed in collaboration with legendary cinematographer, Ed Lachman, ASC—that works like a virtual spot meter, replacing IRE exposure values with stops. Sensor data from the camera provides a reference point, and a false color represents each stop above and below 18% gray, allowing for easier, more intuitive on-set communication.

Livegrade Integration
Pomfort Livegrade is now an integrated plug-in, enabling colorists and DITs to connect their reference monitor with a computer via single Ethernet cable, transforming their monitor into a dual-purpose color grading tool.

Mini-LED Local Dimming (FALD) Panel Technology
The Vision Series Monitors feature a mini-LED local dimming array, with over 2000 individual zones behind the panel. This high-density of zones allows for excellent handling of high-contrast areas across the screen. SmallHD’s FALD controls the light behind the LCD array by modulating each individual LED dynamically. This rapid-fire on/off is controlled by a proprietary algorithm designed by SmallHD, with the goal of achieving HDR contrast ratios.
