One Cat 6 run can carry everything a live camera needs: the programme feed, power, control data and tally. That is the operating logic of the...
Half a millisecond — that is the timing tolerance a networked group of Z CAM bodies maintains through EzLink sync, and the Z-CAM E2-S6 Mark II brings this discipline to Super 35 cinematography. Its Super 35mm CMOS sensor with 26.11 effective megapixels records 6K at up to 60 fps in 2.4:1, 6K DCI at 48 fps, and an Open Gate 6244x4168 mode at 30 fps that leaves room for reframes, anamorphic extraction or vertical cuts from one take. Fourteen stops of dynamic range and dual native ISO 400/1250 hold highlight roll-off and shadow noise in check, from a midday exterior to a dim concert stage.
Codecs cover the whole post chain. ProRes 422 HQ through Proxy, 10-bit H.265 and ZRAW land on fast CFexpress Type B cards; over HDMI the camera feeds ProRes RAW to an Atomos Ninja V or BRAW to a Blackmagic Video Assist. Z-Log2, HLG and Rec.709 profiles slot the footage into any grading pipeline without conversion detours.
Where the Mark II earns its keep on larger jobs is connectivity. 3G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 outputs, BNC inputs for timecode and genlock, plus Gigabit Ethernet with PoE+ mean a single network cable carries power, camera control and SRT, RTMP or RTSP streams — a robotic studio head or a railcam above the stands needs no local battery. The open API ties fleets of these cameras into broadcast automation, and the built-in gyroscope writes motion data for stabilisation in post.
The fanless aluminium housing records for hours without thermal pauses, draws 50 W at most and accepts mini V-Lock batteries or 12–18 V DC. An active-lock EF mount swaps for PL, LPL or M options as lens inventories change. We configure and bench-test multi-camera packages around the Z-CAM E2-S6 Mark II before dispatch, so rental houses and production companies plug into a known-good setup from day one.

Probably the Most Versatile Camera
You might not have seen the Z CAM E2 at these venues, but you've likely watched the stunning images captured by it.
Multiple Camera Synchronization
Z CAM has been widely adopted in many multiple camera applications worldwide due to its high sync precision, open API and reliability.
Z CAM EzLink Sync
All cameras are connected to a network switch for Z CAM EzLink Sync.
Once connected, one camera must be designated as the master, with the others set as slaves.
Z CAM EzLink ensures precise synchronization, maintaining a tolerance of no more than 0.5ms.
Z CAM PixelLink*
Z CAM PixelLink Sync (Master/Slave) requires all cameras to be connected in a daisy chain using Z CAM sync cables.
Cameras are interconnected using Cat 6 Ethernet cables.
Ensuring perfect line sync precision.
* Only available on Z CAM E2 model
