The AJA KUMO CP2, an efficient 2RU rack-mountable control panel engineered for optimal use with AJA's KUMO SDI routers (KUMO 1604, 1616, 3232,...
A director calling a live show gains little from a large camera count if every framing change still depends on screen menus. The Atomos A-Eye Controller PRO lets one operator manage up to 254 Atomos or compatible third-party PTZ cameras, with NDI 6, VISCA, VISCA over IP, Pelco-P and Pelco-D support. That breadth matters in mixed-brand studios and phased camera-replacement projects: existing units can remain in service while one control surface handles pan, tilt, zoom, focus and iris on supported models.
Direct control comes from a joystick for pan, tilt and zoom, plus a zoom rocker, focus wheel and movement-speed knob. Separate iris and autofocus controls, two multifunction buttons and ten preset keys reduce the actions needed during a live cue. The 17.8 cm HD touchscreen presents camera previews, settings and status information, while the Visual AI interface keeps real-time adjustments close to the operator. In a corporate studio, lecture-capture room or event control position, a technician can recall a speaker close-up, trim focus and match movement speed without diverting attention to nested menus.
Motion-path recording and playback adds repeatability for product demonstrations, recurring broadcasts and programmed stage coverage. A rehearsed move can be stored and replayed, giving a lone operator consistent camera motion while the vision mixer handles cuts. The integrated tally light provides immediate on-air feedback, and HDMI 2.0 supplies a 4K monitoring output for a larger production display. These functions help separate camera direction from video switching; the unit is a PTZ controller, not a video mixer.
Network control and tally share the RJ45 connection, with serial VISCA and Pelco support available for compatible installations. Power is supplied through a dedicated DC barrel connector rather than PoE, so fixed desks and mobile racks should reserve power and network cabling. Cross-brand protocol coverage, tactile lens control and repeatable moves make multi-camera PTZ operation more predictable for broadcast, streaming, education and live-event crews where reaction time and shot consistency carry direct production value.
