Shipping with the full Canon RA-AT001 Auto Tracking licence already activated, the Canon CR-N300 White Auto Tracking PTZ Camera turns a static 4K UHD head into a self-directing production tool. A 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor coupled with the DIGIC DV6 image processor delivers 3840 × 2160 capture at up to 29.97p with the colour science Canon broadcast cameras are recognised for, while Multi-Person Framing, Face Direction Framing and Sit/Stand Framing route the lens to the right subject without an operator working a joystick.

Optical performance leans on a 20x zoom corresponding to roughly 29.3–601 mm in 35 mm equivalent terms, with an f/1.8–2.8 aperture, 8-bladed circular iris and built-in image stabilisation that keeps long-throw shots steady at the tele end. A motorised gradation ND filter, 0–36 dB gain range and minimum subject illumination near 1.5 lux extend usable shooting into low-key studio sets, evening conferences and dimly lit halls. Hybrid Autofocus combines Contrast AF with high-speed Phase-detection AF and an external distance sensor, locking onto presenters even when stage lighting drops mid-programme.

IP streaming covers NDI|HX, SRT, RTMP/RTMPS, RTSP/RTP, FreeD and Canon's XC Protocol up to 4K UHD 30p, with PoE+ carrying video, audio, IP control and power down a single Cat 6 run. Connectivity includes a 3G-SDI BNC out (SMPTE 424/425 and ST 299-2 compliant, with embedded audio and timecode), HDMI for direct monitor or recorder feeds, USB for UVC capture, a 3.5 mm microphone jack and an RS-422 RJ45 port for legacy serial control. The titanium-white chassis blends into bright auditoria and corporate atriums where black hardware draws attention.

Pan/tilt mechanics cover ±170° horizontally and -30° to +100° vertically, with speeds from 0.2° to 300° per second under controllers such as the Canon RC-IP100, the Canon Remote Camera Control Application or a tablet over Wi-Fi. Up to 100 preset positions can be stored and recalled instantly for fast scene changes across multi-camera live productions, esports relays, corporate town halls, lecture capture and broadcast inserts. Hybrid AF for precise focus
The CR-N300 combines high-precision contrast AF with high-speed phase-detection AF, ensuring rapid and accurate focusing of the subject, even in low light conditions. Equipped with a bespoke external sensor which measures the distance to the subject and compares the point of focus with that determined by the Contrast AF system. This Hybrid AF system is particularly effective in low light situations and provides fast, accurate and reliable Autofocus with greater accuracy than Contrast AF alone.
