Kinefinity E Mounting Adapter

Lens choice can determine whether a camera package stays compact or becomes needlessly complex. The Kinefinity E Mounting Adapter gives...
On a camera package that remains on PL glass for an entire production, the mount becomes part of the optical chain rather than a simple accessory. Kinefinity Active PL Mount gives compatible Kinefinity bodies a native PL interface, fixed directly to the camera at four corner points. A stainless-steel flange face and a precise locking movement keep the lens seated consistently through repeated swaps of cine primes and zooms. This direct, rigid connection suits feature, commercial and episodic camera builds that are expected to stay assembled across long shooting days.
The mount works with MAVO Edge 8K, MAVO Edge 6K, MAVO mark2 LF, MAVO mark2 S35 and VISTA. It replaces KineMOUNT at body level, so crews can choose a dedicated PL configuration for PL-led jobs, then return the camera to KineMOUNT for EF, E or LPL adapters on another production. Kinefinity states that refitting the Active PL Mount does not require another flange-distance correction. That matters in rental inventories and production-house kits: a body can move between lens families without turning each return to PL into an unnecessary calibration task.
Its active role is the Cooke /i protocol. With a compatible lens, focal length, aperture and depth-of-field information are read in real time and stored with the recorded material, while timecode keeps the data aligned frame by frame. The camera therefore carries a technical record of each take instead of depending on handwritten lens notes. DITs, editors and VFX teams can identify lens settings more reliably, which is especially useful for effects plates, continuity checks and projects with many lens changes.
For an owner-operator, rental house or production company standardising on PL optics, this construction balances mechanical repeatability with useful electronic reporting. The native PL lens mount avoids an additional adapter-to-KineMOUNT junction, and the defined lock travel gives operators clear confirmation that the lens is secured. Combined with frame-level lens metadata, it supports faster hand-offs from camera crew to post without adding unverified automation or needless complexity to the rig.

PL mounting adapter, the most widely used mounting adapter for cinematography. Based on the second-generation PL adapter mount, Kinefinity redesigned and worked hard to create a new native PL mounting adapter.
The native PL adapter is suitable for MAVO Edge 8K、MAVO Edge 6K and MAVO mark2 cameras. It is connected to the camera body by screws at the four corners to ensure the stability of the overall structure, while it can also be switched with the KineMOUNT mount, enriching creative diversity.
Four Corner Screws Fixation
With four corner screws fixing the stainless steel flange face, the overall structure is stable and robust. The mounting adapter and the camera body are toughly connected, which is suitable for long-term use of PL lenses.
Precise Lens Limit
New and optimized locking method, precise travel, fixed lens, providing sense of security while shooting.
Interchangeable Mount
It is convenient to replace the active PL adapter to the KineMOUNT which is compatible with EF/E/LPL mounting adapter and EF/E/LPL lens, enhancing freedom of creation. There is no need to correct the flange distance when re-attaching the PL mounting adapter.
Accurately Record Live Data
Synchronize timecode frame by frame, eliminating the possibility of human error.
Save Time and Cost
Focal length, aperture, and field depth information can be read and stored in the footage in real time.
Post-production Process Simplification
Save the lens metadata of every frame; from the director of photography to special effects artist, can all achieve film making at the fastest speed.
