Kinefinity Active E Mount

Keeping a proven lens set in service can matter more than adding a camera accessory. The Kinefinity Active E Mount gives MAVO Edge 8K/6K, MAVO...
Lens play becomes most costly during a marked focus pull, as torque at the barrel can compromise repeatability. The Kinefinity EF 3 Mounting Adapter tackles that point with a two-stage retention system: the EF lens first turns clockwise in the familiar DSLR bayonet action, then a separate locking ring turns clockwise to clamp the assembly firmly. This positive-lock approach removes free movement at the interface, so a geared manual lens or motor-driven follow focus can be operated with greater confidence on a cinema rig.
Electronic contacts maintain iris control with most compatible EF lenses, while the adapter seats directly on KineMOUNT without an external cord. Lens changes may be made while the camera remains powered; Kinefinity specifies hot-swap support and additional electrical protection. This matters on commercial sets, interview stages or documentary units where a lens change should not require a full camera reboot. The distinction is important: hot-swap applies to lenses. Changing one KineMOUNT adapter for another requires the camera to be powered down to protect both camera and mount.
Camera support spans MAVO Edge 8K and 6K, MAVO mark2 LF and S35, MAVO LF, MAVO 6K, TERRA 4K and 6K, plus VISTA. A rental house can therefore keep one active EF mount adapter across several Kinefinity bodies, while an owner-operator can retain existing Canon EF glass for narrative, branded-content and controlled studio production. The regular EF 3 version contains neither the e-ND module nor the KineEnhancer; those functions belong to separate adapters, a useful distinction during kit specification.
Mounting remains tool-free. To seat a lens, unlock the ring counter-clockwise, align the lens and mount index marks, rotate the lens clockwise until the release button rises, then tighten the ring clockwise. Removal reverses that sequence: release the ring, press the mount button fully and turn the lens counter-clockwise. These clear mechanical cues help assistants confirm seating before a motor calibration, handheld take or gimbal balance check—small details that protect setup time and focus accuracy.

The Kinefinity A230-001-01 EF 3 Mounting Adapter is a rock-solid, tool-free EF lens adapter for MAVO and TERRA cameras, featuring full electronic iris control, AF support, active locking ring, and follow-focus compatibility in a featherlight 200 g CNC-metal body—perfect for run-and-gun cinematographers who demand zero back-focus hassle and instant lens swaps.
Engineered for seamless Canon EF integration, the Kinefinity A230-001-01 EF 3 Mounting Adapter transforms any MAVO (Edge 8K/6K, mark2, LF) or TERRA 4K into a full-frame EF powerhouse. Gold-plated electronic contacts transmit aperture, IS, and EXIF data while enabling servo-zoom and autofocus on compatible lenses (Sigma ART, Canon CN-E, etc.). The patented active-locking ring clicks lenses in with a satisfying 60° twist—no tools, no play, no shims required thanks to precision factory calibration. A geared iris ring works flawlessly with any 0.8-mod follow focus, and the recessed flange design prevents lens damage during swaps. At just 200 g and finished in space-grade anodized aluminum, it adds virtually zero bulk yet supports cine primes up to 5 kg.
