Mounting a camera where a full-body PTZ simply will not fit is the everyday reality of crowded stages, tight studio corners and lighting grids. The Marshall CV355-10X answers that constraint with a compact block format built around a 1/2.8" 2.1-megapixel CMOS sensor that resolves a clean 1920x1080 picture, while its 10x optical lens travels from 4.7 to 47mm and stretches further through 12x digital zoom. The horizontal angle of view opens to roughly 60 degrees at the wide end and narrows to about 6 degrees telephoto, so a single unit covers both an establishing wide and a tight detail shot without anyone touching the rig.

What sets this Marshall box camera apart on a multi-camera set is its simultaneous 3G-SDI and HDMI feed. Operators can route a locked 1080p60 signal over BNC to the switcher and, at the same moment, send HDMI to a confidence monitor or recorder. Iris, focus, exposure, white balance and pedestal respond to commands over the RS-485 line using Sony VISCA or Pelco-P/D, which means colour and exposure can be matched across several CV355-10X bodies from one control position long after the cameras are bolted into place.

Low light rarely intimidates this sensor. Rated to 0.1 lux in colour and down to 0.01 lux in monochrome, with DSS pushing sensitivity to 0.001 lux, it holds usable images through dim auditoriums and evening sports. Engineers leaning on it for round-the-clock coverage benefit from 2D and 3D noise reduction, digital stabilisation, defog and privacy masking, plus a generous spread of frame rates covering 60, 50, 30, 25 and 24fps territory for both 50Hz and 60Hz regions.

The housing reflects how these cameras actually get used. An aluminium alloy shell, full-sized BNC and HDMI ports, side impact panels and a locking Hirose breakout cable carrying power, audio and control keep connections secure when a unit is rigged overhead or left running for days. A 3.5mm stereo input embeds microphone or line audio straight into the output, and the modest 12-volt draw makes remote placement painless. For production houses standardising on dependable, serviceable kit, the CV355-10X is a sound long-term investment.
