The PTZOptics Studio SE 20x is a stationary box camera built around a 1/2.8-inch CMOS sensor with 8.4 million effective pixels, delivering 1080p at up to 60 fps. Its 20x optical zoom lens covers a focal range of 4.7 mm to 94 mm (F1.6–F3.6), producing a horizontal field of view from 60.7° down to 3.5° — wide enough to frame an entire conference table, yet tight enough for clean head-and-shoulder shots across a large venue. A 16x digital zoom supplements the optics when extra reach is needed.
Four simultaneous outputs set this camera apart from typical fixed-lens units. A 3G-SDI port (BNC, 75 Ω, SMPTE 424M) feeds broadcast switchers directly, while HDMI 2.0 handles monitors and recorders. USB 3.0 Type-C turns the Studio SE into a plug-and-play capture device for software encoders and videoconferencing platforms. On the network side, a Gigabit Ethernet port carries native NDI HX3 alongside RTSP, RTMP/RTMPS, SRT, and ONVIF — a single Cat cable can replace an SDI run across a studio floor. H.264, H.265 HEVC, MJPEG, and YUY2 compression keep bandwidth manageable regardless of transport.
Low-light sensitivity reaches 0.5 lux (F1.8, AGC on), so the camera holds a usable image under dim stage wash or courtroom overhead lighting. Shutter speeds span 1/30 s to 1/10 000 s, and 255 stored presets let operators recall exact framing instantly. A built-in microphone handles ambient audio, while 3.5 mm line-level input and output jacks tie into external mixers. The front-facing tally light gives talent a clear programme indicator.
Through Hive-Linked connectivity the PTZOptics Studio SE 20x pairs with Hive Studio for cloud-based management from any browser. It also responds to IR remote, web UI, VISCA-over-IP, and the PTZOptics control app. Power runs from 12 V DC or PoE (802.3at) at 18 W max — well suited for ceiling mounts in houses of worship, lecture halls, broadcast control rooms, or municipal buildings. NDAA-compliant components make it eligible for government installations.
