PTZOptics ZCam ZCAM-12X (PT12X-ZCAM) is a compact Full HD POV box camera for multi-camera production, lecture capture and fixed installs. A 2.07 MP 1/2.7" CMOS and a 12x optical zoom (3.5–42.3 mm, f/1.8–2.8) deliver 1080p60 over 3G-SDI, while IP streaming provides H.264/H.265/MJPEG dual streams up to 1080p30 for RTSP/RTMP workflows. Horizontal angle of view spans 72.5° to 6.9° (vertical 44.8° to 3.9°), covering wide classroom shots through tight stage crops without swapping lenses.

Engineers get broadcast-ready signals and deterministic sync via 3G-SDI, plus low-bandwidth remote contribution over gigabit Ethernet with PoE (802.3af Class 3). The camera encodes AAC audio over IP, supports 2D/3D noise reduction, Wide Dynamic Range and ≥55 dB SNR for clean pictures in mixed lighting. Minimum illumination is 0.5 lux at f/1.8 (AGC on), maintaining color fidelity in auditoriums and houses of worship. An on-body OSD and rear menu keys enable fast exposure, color matrix and gamma adjustments without a controller.

Control options include IP (web UI/HTTP), RS-485 with VISCA and Pelco-D/P at 2400/4800/9600 bps, and tally via production switchers. Dual streaming lets you deliver a high-bitrate program and a concurrent proxy for monitoring or recording. For NDI|HX ecosystems, a licensed activation is available on ZCam variants, enabling discovery and routing inside NDI-based switchers*.

Installation is straightforward: power by PoE or 12 VDC, then route SDI to your switcher and IP to your network. The metal chassis measures 79 × 74 × 145 mm and weighs 0.63 kg, with a bottom 1/4-20 mount for cages or ceiling plates. Typical uses include broadcast flypacks, corporate auditoriums, training rooms, esports POVs and remote interview angles where a small, locked-off camera must match PTZ and studio chains. Outputs: 3G-SDI, RJ45 IP; H.264/H.265; RTSP/RTMP; PoE for single-cable installs.
