    Roland VC-1-DL is a bi-directional SDI/HDMI converter that adds precise frame sync and independent audio/video delay to any signal path. It accepts and outputs 3G/HD/SD-SDI (Level A or B) and HDMI while maintaining 4:2:2 video integrity with no interlace artifacts. Delay ranges from 0 to 9 fields (up to 4.5 frames) for picture and for sound separately, allowing tight latency management across switchers, processors and encoders.

    I/O is comprehensive: SDI In/Outs, HDMI In/Out, and balanced analog audio I/O on 1/4-inch (6.35 mm) TRS plus AES3 24-bit/48 kHz. Selectable audio embedding/de-embedding routes analog or AES to HDMI/SDI outputs on channels 1/2, 3/4, 5/6 or 7/8, or extracts embedded audio to analog/AES outputs. A dedicated REF IN accepts black burst and bi-/tri-level sync; with reference applied, the VC-1-DL also operates as a frame synchronizer for unstable or asynchronous sources.

    Standards handling is exhaustive. The unit is HDCP-compliant; when protected content is detected on HDMI input, output continues on HDMI while SDI and audio outputs mute as required. A front-panel mode switch selects 3G-SDI Level A/B, while status LEDs report SD/HD/3G on SDI and RGB/YCC sampling on HDMI. For setup, connect via USB and run the VC-1 RCS software to store presets, map audio groups (1/2 vs 3/4), and adjust delay with sub-field accuracy.

    Use the Roland VC-1-DL to align multi-camera rigs feeding mixed SDI/HDMI routers; match projector pipelines to LED walls; delay program audio for PA to keep lips and speakers in phase; embed intercom/program stems into SDI for contribution; or bridge studio SDI infrastructure to HDMI monitors and recorders.     In live production as you add more video components to a signal flow, latency is introduced. The VC-1-DL converter not only allows bidirectional conversion of SDI/HDMI but it also provides frame sync and delay adjustment of up to 9 fields (4.5 frames) for audio and video independently. This is helpful when keeping various types of cameras in sync as well as ensuring a projector stays in sync with an LED wall.
