    Built for production houses that handle multi-camera shoots without an extra crew member behind each lens, the Canon CR-N300 Black brings broadcast-grade colour science into a discreet PTZ body. Its 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor paired with the DIGIC DV6 processor renders 4K UHD at up to 29.97p and Full HD up to 59.94p, holding detail across skin tones and stage lighting where lower-tier remote heads tend to flatten the image.

    The integrated 20x optical zoom (f=3.67–73.4 mm, F/1.8–2.8) reaches a 35 mm-equivalent telephoto of roughly 601 mm in 4K, while optical image stabilisation keeps tight framing usable on truss-mounted or ceiling installations. Hybrid AF blends contrast and phase-detection pixels, locking focus on speakers or musicians with confidence at apertures as wide as F/1.8 and down to about 1.5 lux. Pan sweeps ±170° at up to 300°/sec and tilt covers -30° to +100°, letting operators recall up to 100 presets for repeatable corporate, sport or lecture-capture sequences.

    Signal routing answers what mixed venues actually require: HDMI with 4:2:2 10-bit output, a 3G-SDI BNC for long cable runs, USB Type-C for UVC conferencing, plus a Gigabit RJ45 with PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) that carries video, control, tally and power on a single line. Streaming engineers move between NDI|HX, RTMP/RTMPS, RTP/RTSP, SRT, Canon's XC protocol and FreeD without bolting on external converters.

    Command of the CR-N300 reaches the unit over LAN, Wi-Fi, IR or RS-422, and Canon's free Webcam Driver aggregates as many as five cameras into one Ethernet handoff for any UVC-compatible application. The bundled Auto Tracking RA-AT001(Lite) firmware option follows a presenter using face detection — note that only the Lite licence ships with this unit, while the full RA-AT001 capability is sold separately as a paid software licence. Pair the camera with a Canon RC-IP100 controller and a full multi-position live shoot becomes a single-operator job.

    Hybrid AF for precise focus
    The CR-N300 combines high-precision contrast AF with high-speed phase-detection AF, ensuring rapid and accurate focusing of the subject, even in low light conditions. Equipped with a bespoke external sensor which measures the distance to the subject and compares the point of focus with that determined by the Contrast AF system. This Hybrid AF system is particularly effective in low light situations and provides fast, accurate and reliable Autofocus with greater accuracy than Contrast AF alone.
