Canon RC-IP100 PTZ Controller

Centralised, hands-on command of a multi-camera PTZ rig becomes far less stressful once a dedicated console handles the heavy lifting. The Canon...
Few PTZ cameras on the market pair a genuine 1.0-type CMOS sensor with Canon's broadcast-grade optics at this price point, and the Canon CR-N500 White stands out for precisely that reason. Its sensor surface area is roughly four times larger than 1/2.3-type chips and nearly seven times the size of 1/3-type sensors still widespread in the PTZ segment, which translates into noticeably cleaner footage under low light — the camera holds usable images down to 1.5 lux. Coupled with the DIGIC DV6 processor, it outputs native 4K UHD at 30p and Full HD at 60p, while Canon Log 3 and Wide Dynamic Range gamma extend the capture to 13 stops — enough headroom for post-production grading or confident direct-to-air delivery.
The 15x optical zoom lens covers a 35mm equivalent range of 25.5–382.5 mm with an aperture of f/2.8–4.5 and a 73° horizontal field of view at its widest setting. A built-in motorised ND filter with three density steps (1/4, 1/16, 1/64) keeps depth of field under control without external accessories. Canon's Dual Pixel CMOS autofocus locks onto faces and tracks moving subjects across the frame — particularly valuable during corporate presentations, panel discussions, or live esports coverage where speakers move freely. Optical image stabilisation smooths out vibrations during pan and tilt, and motor speeds from 0.1° to 100° per second support everything from slow cinematic sweeps to rapid repositioning across the camera's 100 stored presets.
On the connectivity side, the Canon CR-N500 White delivers three simultaneous streams through 3G-SDI, full-size HDMI (4K 4:2:2 10-bit), and IP — with native support for NDI|HX2, SRT, RTSP/RTP, and RTMP/RTMPS for direct streaming into switchers or online platforms. A single PoE+ cable carries video, audio, control, tally, and power over Gigabit Ethernet, drastically reducing cabling complexity. Two balanced XLR inputs with 48V phantom power and a 3.5 mm mic jack handle professional audio on-site. Genlock, RS-422 serial, and Wi-Fi control ensure synchronisation in multi-camera setups managed via Canon's RC-IP100 or RC-IP1000 controllers. A free Auto Tracking application (Lite) ships with the latest firmware, enabling automated subject following for event stages, lecture halls, or remote productions.

Powerful 4K imagery
The 1.0-type CMOS Sensor and DIGIC DV6 processor work in unison to deliver exceptional 4K UHD/30p image quality as well as upscaled Full HD/60p images thanks to over sampled HD processing.
Smooth and precise control
The CR-N500 is equipped with a high-precision drive mechanism enabling fine adjustments of the Pan and Tilt movement and speed ensuring the perfect shot. Compatible with the RC-IP1000, the RC-SK5, the RC-IP100 controller and Remote Camera Control Application controllers, the CR-N500 is also compatible with selected third-party controllers.
Stabilised 15x Optical Zoom to get closer
Canon’s advanced 4K optics make sure greater detail is captured, and flexibility assured, with a 15x optical zoom (25.5-382.5mm 35mm equivalent), providing a wide angle to telephoto field of view. Canon’s advanced four-axis image stabilisation ensures high quality image capture.
IP Streaming and Control to transform your production
A comprehensive range of IP control and streaming protocols up to 4K UHD 30p (such as NDI|HX, RTMP, RTP/RTSP, RTMPS, SRT, FreeD and Canon’s XC Protocol) are included, making the CR-N500 an ideal solution for new or existing systems.
Excellent imagery in low light
The CR-N500 produces high quality imagery with low noise, even with a minimum illumination of 1.5 lux. The large 1.0-type CMOS sensor and the DIGIC DV6 processor ensure the image quality retains its integrity even in the most challenging of lighting conditions.
Dual Pixel CMOS AF keeps it sharp
The CR-N500 features Canon’s renowned Dual Pixel CMOS Auto Focus system which provides extremely quick and accurate focus via multiple modes.
Extensive Connectors for ease of use
The CR-N500 features a host of connections to ensure the ultimate flexibility, including a 3G-SDI video output, full-sized HDMI port (supporting 4K UHD 30p at 4:2:2 10-bit), professional XLR audio inputs, as well as a PoE+ LAN port to allow for easy system integration.
HDR Imagery, with versatile image quality adjustments
Achieve stunning HDR imagery with Canon Log 3 and Wide Dynamic Range Support. Both technologies ensure the best HDR imagery can be achieved for applications where postproduction or a quick turnaround is required. The in-built image adjustment settings also ensure flexible and bespoke imagery to colour match with other cameras.
Upgrade your content with a new firmware update available August 2025
Download the latest firmware and take advantage of newly added Auto Tracking App RA-AT001* features. Auto Framing features include Multi-Person Framing, that detects and includes multiple people in the frame, while Face Direction Framing and Sit/Stand Framing deliver natural composition for a single person in frame. Additionally, RTMP/SRT auto reconnection and improved camera control from the iOS app is now included.
*Free Auto Tracking App RA-AT001(Lite) available via FW, 1.1.0 or later. A paid license is necessary for full functionality of auto tracking.
