RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 ports share the rear panel of the PTZOptics SuperJoy with an Ethernet jack that also takes 802.3af PoE, so older serial heads and current network cameras answer to one joystick. Over IP it speaks PTZOptics VISCA (UDP or TCP), Sony VISCA over IP, NDI, ONVIF and Panasonic HTTP; on serial lines, VISCA and Pelco-D/P. PTZOptics and HuddleCamHD cameras get the full command set; other brands receive a narrower one that varies by manufacturer. Sized for a rental fleet or a fixed control room, this PTZ camera controller holds 253 addresses: four groups of seven, plus a fifth that takes up to 225 network cameras.
Shading happens on the panel, not inside camera menus. The three-axis stick pans, tilts and zooms with a twist. One knob trims iris and shutter, another red and blue gain, and dedicated keys cycle five white-balance and five exposure modes, fire One Push calibration or toggle backlight compensation. Matching two angles on a panel debate before air becomes a quick job. Fine-tune dials creep zoom at its slowest step and pull focus by hand, while AF lock keeps a PTZOptics head from refocusing after each zoom. Pan, tilt, zoom, focus and preset speeds are saved per camera.
Presets run from 0 to 255 per camera; holding a keypad digit for three seconds stores a quick one. Super-Presets send up to eight cameras to stored shots at once and can add an HTTP-CGI call, useful for resetting a stage between conference sessions. Four custom keys and a fifth on the joystick knob send HTTP, TCP, UDP or UART strings to a switcher, a recorder, vMix or networked lights, and an automatic trigger can cut the mixer to a camera as soon as it is selected. For guest operators, Basic mode narrows the desk to presets, and Matrix mode maps keys 1–9 to presets 1–3 on cameras 1–3.
A built-in decoder pulls the active camera's RTSP stream and plays it out at 1080p over HDMI, so the desk can sit anywhere on the LAN with its own preview monitor. It draws 6 W from 12 V or PoE, RS-485 reaches 1,200 m, and settings export via USB or the web page to clone a setup between flight cases.
