The Canon CR-N350 Black PTZ Camera meets that brief — a 4K UHD 60p PTZ unit built around a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor and Canon's DIGIC DV7 image processor, with a 20× optical zoom that doubles to 40× in Full HD.

Image character holds up under tough lighting. HDR capture in PQ and HLG, together with Canon Log 3 and BT.709 Wide DR gamma options, gives colourists clean material to grade later. The f/1.8–2.8 lens covers 3.67–73.4 mm with a 35 mm equivalent reach of roughly 30 to 616 mm, and the motorised built-in ND filter (1/2, 1/4, 1/8) lets camera ops hold their aperture choice under shifting stage lighting. Focus is handled by Hybrid AF with face, eye and head tracking — a real benefit during corporate keynotes or live panel shows where talent rarely sits still.

Connectivity is where this Canon PTZ earns its place in a production rack. 3G-SDI, HDMI Type A, USB-C and IP video output run in parallel, and a single PoE++ (IEEE 802.3bt) cable carries power, control, NDI|HX2 audio/video and tally between camera and control room. On the operations side, the RA-AT001 (Lite) Auto Tracking application — free via firmware 1.1.0 or later — keeps a moving subject framed without a dedicated camera op, while the optional full RA-AT001 licence opens manual subject selection, ten-level sensitivity, Multi-Person Framing and Sit/Stand Framing. Up to 100 presets, smooth pan to ±170°, and simultaneous widescreen plus vertical streaming let a single CR-N350 cover horizontal IMAG, hybrid event capture and short-form social feeds at once — a clean answer for production houses billing parallel deliverables from one rig.
