PTZOptics PT-JOY-G4 is a network and serial PTZ camera controller for broadcast, streaming and enterprise AV. It pairs a 3-axis joystick with tactile dials to deliver precise pan/tilt/zoom and iris control across large systems. Over IP it manages up to 255 cameras using VISCA over IP (PTZOptics & Sony) and supports serial VISCA, Pelco-D, Pelco-P via RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485. A large LCD status display, direct OSD access and 255 presets (with 9 quick presets) accelerate operations with instant recall and on-panel speed shaping.
Connectivity is straightforward: PoE (802.3af) or 12 VDC power; LAN with DHCP or static IP; and serial cabling with recommended ranges of 100 m (Ethernet), 15 m (RS-232/422) and 1200 m (RS-485 using 24-AWG twisted pair). Variable PTZ speeds and a fine-tune zoom dial plus focus knob enable smooth shots; focus lock/unlock keeps framing stable. Operators can adjust exposure, white balance, and red/blue gain from the panel without menu diving.
The built-in web UI streamlines configuration, backup and re-deployment. Import/export profiles for different studios, map cameras quickly, and trigger SuperPresets to recall coordinated moves on up to eight cameras. Firmware also adds Automatic Triggers and a customizable joystick-top button for actions such as starting a record macro or enabling auto-tracking on the active unit—useful alongside vision mixers or automation.
Engineered in a metal chassis for production environments, PT-JOY-G4 weighs 2.02 kg and measures 303 × 235 × 56 mm (108 mm incl. joystick). Power draw is just 6 W. Operating range is –10 to +50 °C, 10–90% RH. Baud rates from 1200–19200 bps ensure interoperability across legacy and modern endpoints. The controller is NDAA Section 889 compliant and covered by a 2-year warranty, fitting professional control rooms that require deterministic PTZ control with minimal cabling. USB firmware updates are supported.

For network setup, the PT-JOY-G4 will dynamically obtain an IP address upon connection to your LAN. If your network is not able to supply DHCP addresses, you can assign a static IP address to the controller.
